If you are feeling anxious or in a spiral, try this approach (not my own) for re-grounding: Make note of
5 things you can see
4 things you can feel
3 things you can hear
2 things you can smell
1 thing you can taste.
This will bring you out of a state of mental turmoil and back into the present. It will not solve any problems, but it can interrupt your emotions from running away in the situation.
